I am a proponent that team skills are (in general) far more valuable than individual fighting skills. This is among my favorite videos of all time when it comes to FoamFighting. THe video is about basic unit and group battle tactics and the dynamics of field combat.

This is more than just for the "General" types who like strategy, but is useful information for any fighter when determining the best corse of action to take in a fight.
Many, many thanks for making this. It's lovely to see some actual thought and teaching. The voiceover, repeats and explanations of plans make it very useful, plus it's good for showing other people that there's more than just hitting each other to this.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very good idea to make the teams visibly different, though even so they're hard to tell apart on a lo-res highly compressed video.
If you do more, maybe use blue/yellow tabards and shield covers to make it really easy to see? More importantly, please have the dead people lie down. It looks nicer and makes it easier to follow who's legged and who's dead.
Thanks for the feedback on the movie. Our company in Amtgard made this video years ago (William Haddon and William Jorden). I think if we redid it there are lots of things we could have done better. Anyway, I appreciate you linking to the video.
